After recently purchasing a new camera (Nikon D50), I set up this blog to encourage myself to use it often. Most of the pictures will be from the Chicago area, probably mostly from the northside, but who knows, I'll probably throw some random ones up here also.

Back in highschool!

This is fun, I haven't really played with an SLR like this since highschool photography. It's like learning how to use a real camera all over again! I spent some time the last few days playing with different aperture, shutter speed, and exposure settings. If you know what I'm talking about, see if you can tell what I was trying to do. If not, just enjoy the picutres! I promise I'll get some more interesting shots soon, but for now, here are a few neighborhood shots and a whole bunch of still lifes.

Hi, Grant...
Your high school teacher would appreciate knowing that he(she) made a lasting impression. Right or wrong??
Anyway, it's a fascinating hobby and I shall enjoy your pictures.
Happy birthday tomorrow to Jennie. Stay well, and, enjoy. Love from one of your oldest fans! Mamaw

Grant,
Sorry my post says, "Mommy said". That just came up from our blog spot, I guess! Funny though.
